You’re trying to out-idiom the original?  Nice try, but feeding two birds with one scone is just a weak imitation of killing two birds with one stone.  Originality wins here.  After all, you’re just trying to feed me a variation of the same phrase, but it’s still the same old bird-brained idea.  Even though, you’re just trying to sneak one past me with a slight variation, it’s still has the same old idiom, ahem, figurative meaning.  Nice try, though!
